Angel food/Pie filling Cake
« on: April 17, 2014, 03:14:19 PM »
This is my kind of cake, tasty and easy to fix when you need something quick:

1 can (any flavor) pie filling
1 box Angel food Cake mix
nuts (optional)

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease largest oblong baking dish, bigger than the standard 9X13 or use  that size and put about 3/4 of mix into it and the rest into a greased 8 inch square baking dish.
Mix pie filling and cake mix together (no other ingredients) until well combined. Pour into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes.

I used strawberry pie filling this time...but looking forward to trying other pie fillings too. I did not use nuts with strawberry...but almonds and cherry sounds good, or apple and walnuts...hmmmm lots of options.

This  sounds  to  easy.  I  wonder if   any other  cake  mix   would  work,  like  yellow or  white? Have  you  ever  tried   them......

I have tried what they call a dump cake with other cake mixes and pie filling but it is a little bit different recipe.
